See more photos from the Club Candids slideshow The trio of Pete “SuperMix” Salaz, Sean Badger, and Edson Madrigal admit they haven’t been getting much downtime (or even sleep) as of late. That’s because they’ve been working nonstop running two downtown Phoenix clubs, including the newly launched Monarch Theatre.
Salaz says the trio pulled 24-hour shifts in the days leading up to the Monarch’s soft opening on April 20. And while they’ve snuck in some shut eye since then, he admits, they’re still going around the clock to keep things running smoothly and getting the place up to snuff for grand opening during Memorial Day weekend.

By that logic, the trio must really feel like pimps, considering that more than 400 showed up for the soft opening weekend.

Posted by: minneapolisgirl | May 2, 2012 | No Comment |The girls ranged in age from 13 to 17. Their pimps often “groomed” them with gifts, said Milburn. Police worked with social service agencies to connect the girls with their parents and provide counseling.
According to the charges against the three men:
Police learned Toe was prostituting a 19-year-old woman on the Backpage.com website. She said she was already a prostitute when she met him. She said Toe agreed to work with her because she didn’t have any money and didn’t know anybody in the area. He received half the money she earned.
Tarley set up a date for one of the women with a man he said was his uncle. Davis paid Tarley $150 in exchange for sex. Tarley denied this happened.
“We will go after the johns, pimps and supplier,” said Milburn. “We will continue to investigate.”
Minneapolis Adult Entertainment: Conference addresses human trafficking
Posted by: sexinthecityofminneapolis | May 1, 2012 | No Comment |She said the victims are harmed emotionally and physically. If they are forced into prostitution the perpetrators may take their photos and threaten to show them or threaten to kill their families, she said, so it’s not so easy for the victims to leave.
Youth most in danger of becoming victims of human trafficking, Koepplinger said, are runaways, truant students and children maturing out of the foster care system.
She said when young people are on their own, they usually go to cities but lack shelter and they have on average 36 to 48 hours before someone will come to them and offer them something in exchange for sex.

The Minnesota Indian Women’s Resource Center is advocating for laws that protect and see the victims of human trafficking, or prostitution, as victims and not subject to charges.

Want a Hotel Room in Plymouth? You Might Need Photo ID
Plymouth considers big changes for hotel check-ins and a vote will happen next week. The city wants to fight prostitution and track other bad guys through more thorough hotel records. The Plymouth City Council will vote May 8th on a proposed ordinance that would require all members of a hotel party to show a photo ID, if they are older than 18, when checking in.
Plymouth Police tell 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS the ordinance will help them find criminals and work against prostitution better. They say it is not intended to target hockey families in town for tournaments, or the average traveller. And, they say it is pretty close to what the state law already requires.

Gerald Durand just dodged a trip to county jail after being accused of trying to interfere with a witness testifying in his trial in federal court in Minneapolis.
Durand is on trial with Jason “Bo” Beckman, 42, and Pat Kiley, 73, in connection with the $194 million Ponzi scheme run by Trevor Cook. Durand, 61, allegedly recruited investors to the scheme operated out of the Van Dusen mansion in Minneapolis.
Stephanie Bolton, who had worked at the mansion, had been on the witness stand Wednesday, April 25, and was set to return Thursday morning. After the trial wrapped up Wednesday, Durand called Misty Watkins, a friend of Bolton’s sister, and told her that Bolton had testified about drinking, marijuana use and prostitutes at the Van Dusen mansion.
Minneapolis Strip Clubs: Glee blog: ‘Dance With Somebody’
Posted by: dallasfromminneapolis | April 27, 2012 | No Comment |Elsewhere in McKinley High, Christian Joe is earnestly struggling to keep it in his pants after a hot and heavy massage session with Quinn. They look like they might be ready to get it on but as Joe’s only a temporary character it doesn’t seem like it’ll go anywhere exciting. Here’s hoping that Quinn takes his virgin innocence and then miraculously rises from her wheelchair in a ray of light. As the sublime Brittany says, Joe is obviously teen Jesus in disguise.
Next week it’s Rachel and Kurt’s NYADA auditions. I’m excited simply by the fact that “Cell Block Tango” from Chicago has been confirmed a one of songs. Please please please let me see Kurt in fishnets.
Best moment: Puck’s heartfelt bromance speech in the locker room, managing to be emotional and insulting at the same time. “Sorry Finn I tried to get your balls back from Rachel but she’s got those on lockdown.” More Puck please.
Worst moment: Trouty Mouth talking about how he had sex when he worked at the strip club. LA LA LA NOT LISTENING. I do not want to imagine him having sex, ever.
Minneapolis Strip Clubs: Jurors told of sex, drugs and booze at Cook’s firm
Posted by: dallasfromminneapolis | April 27, 2012 | No Comment |Boltan was the first of several witnesses who described on-the-job drinking and some marijuana use.
Federal prosecutors are trying to establish that the goings-on at the Van Dusen mansion and to a lesser degree at a Burnsville residence where Kiley worked belied the claims that Beckman, Durand and Kiley made to investors about Cook’s investment program being a sophisticated operation run by top financial pros.
Jared Jenkins, 34, said he met Cook and Durand while he was working at Rick’s Cabaret, a downtown Minneapolis strip club. They asked him to “bring some girls” on a cruise around Lake Minnetonka, then hired him as a broker, he said. At first, he said he worked for Durand. He said he was given a list of leads and told to “pre-qualify” potential investors by finding out if they had any assets.
Minneapolis Adult Entertainment: Prosecutors Conclude Sex Trafficking Case
Posted by: sexinthecityofminneapolis | April 25, 2012 | No Comment |NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Federal prosecutors have finished their case against a group of nine defendants charged in a conspiracy to commit sexual trafficking of children operated by Somali gangs.
The federal jury could hear closing arguments on Wednesday afternoon after more than two weeks of testimony in the case that spans from Minnesota to Tennessee. Seven of the nine defendants on trial and several key witnesses have been from the Somali refugee communities in Minneapolis and Nashville.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office is trying to prove a wide-ranging conspiracy by the gangs to use girls under the age of 18 as prostitutes, but defense attorneys have argued the exact age of the prosecution’s main witness, a Somali female identified only as Jane Doe No. 2, is not known because her birth certificate is faked.

Minneapolis Strip Clubs: Glee “Dance with Somebody” Review
Posted by: dallasfromminneapolis | April 25, 2012 | No Comment |So, who wasn’t surprised that Quinn and Jesus Boy started falling for each other? Not me; saw that one coming a mile away. I’ve never been Quinn’s biggest fan, but mopey, paralyzed Quinn is only slightly better than faux-bad girl Quinn. She mistakes Jesus Boy’s reluctance to make out with her in the middle of her physical therapy session as repulsion at her condition, completely forgetting that they’re both part of the virginity club. But even after a talk with Sam who apparently lost his to some patron of the strip bar where he worked over the summer, Jesus Boy remains torn about what’s right and wrong, although he is still definitely into the former cheer queen, despite her disability. And except for the dreadlocks, he is pretty good-looking. She could do worse.
