Minneapolis Strip Clubs: Voice for the forgotten

One of Corcoran’s first assignments was in Santa Maria as a teacher at St. Mary of the Assumption School, but after a few years of educating youngsters, she was certain that her heart was in nursing and health care.
 She went back to school and received her associate’s degree from El Camino College in Compton, and went onto Cal State Dominguez Hills to earn a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a master’s degree in behavioral science with an emphasis on gerontology.
At that time, Corcoran returned to St. Francis, where her spiritual journey began, and served as a social worker, discharge planner and chaplain.
One night, she got a call around Christmastime, to come down to the hospital. Once there, she was directed to a scantily-clad woman with about a pound of makeup on, who worked at a strip club nearby.
