Jamaal Freeman was found not guilty this morning in the robbery and death of Mark Loesch.
The man accused in the late-night 2007 beating death of a south Minneapolis bicyclist testified Monday for the first time in his own defense, saying he had nothing to do with the robbing and death of Mark Loesch.
Shortly before 10 p.m. on the night of the crime, Jamaal Freeman said, he walked to Cup Foods on the corner of S. 38th Street and Chicago Avenue to get food. He said he ran into Donald Jackson, who asked him to go downtown to Augie’s nightclub with him later.
“I said, ‘I ain’t trying to spend no money on strippers,’” Freeman said he told Jackson. “He was like, ‘You come down there with me, I got you.’”
