The president of North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale was arrested this morning on suspicion of engaging in prostitution.
Police arrested David William Cress, 60, of Bloomington, at the intersection of West 77th Street and Lyndale Avenue South in Richfield, according to the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Department.
Cress was released from jail this afternoon on $50 bail.
A call to his residence seeking comment was not immediately returned Wednesday.
He faces a misdemeanor charge of engaging in prostitution with someone 18 years or older. If convicted, he could serve up to 90 days in jail. His next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 15.
Cress is the president and CEO of North Memorial, where he has worked for 28 years, according to the hospital’s website. He also serves as the chair of the board of directors for the company’s Maple Grove hospital.
