Forget Bieber fever – apparently the residents of Cool, Texas, are in looooove with Casey James. I thought some of those girls were going to faint. My first encounter with tears was when Casey went back to the hospital to thank the doctor and nurses who saved his life after a motorcycle accident 6 years earlier. What can I say? I was touched.
Travis Garland was the first live performer of the night, and I had no idea who he was. I’m officially becoming one of those old, crotchity people who talks about what’s wrong with music today. Apparently, Perez Hilton (or the half of Perez Hilton who showed up) has been pimping him on his site. Perez Hilton influences people? Really? I guess I’m the only one who doesn’t find drawings of jiz coming out of people’s mouths and cocaine coming out of their noses all that entertaining. But I digress. His performance was…uh…interesting. I still thought it sounded pretty horrible, but I enjoyed the dance moves and the drummers who seemed to show up from The Blue Man Group.
