A suspect in two early morning slayings apparently killed himself Thursday as he led police on a chase down a busy Minneapolis street.
Meanwhile, police were investigating whether a “suspicious death” reported Thursday afternoon at a wooded home in Inver Grove Heights might be connected to the killings.
Police did not name the suspect, but WCCO-TV identified him as Trace Maxwell, 40. Citing unidentified sources, the station said Maxwell ran an escort service and worked at a tattoo shop. Citing state records, the station said he had been convicted of assault, driving while intoxicated and fleeing police.
Maxwell reportedly was driving the red SUV that careened into a retaining wall at a service station on East Lake Street just west of Cedar Avenue about 7:15 a.m.
