Charged: Leader of alleged ‘Nice Guys’ prostitution ring

St. Marie set up appointments for prostitutes with men he called “The Minnesota Nice Guys” – those whom he claimed were safe and would pay well, the complaint continued.
Minneapolis police began investigating St. Marie’s activities two years ago after receiving a tip from an informant who had patronized the prostitution services. The appointments were scheduled at numerous Minneapolis hotels, according to the charges, among them: the Radisson University, the Doubletree and the Minneapolis Hotel.

Investigators conducted surveillance of the prostitution activities at the hotels between August 2008 and May 2009. At times with the cooperation of one of the prostitutes, several patrons were arrested while agreeing to pay for sex. They stated that St. Marie had arranged for them to meet with prostitutes, the complaint added.
