Twenty-nine-year-old Malachi Tramble II used the website Backpage.com to prostitute the girl out of an apartment in St. Paul, according to the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office.
Authorities were alerted to the crime after Woodbury police reported a 17-year-old was being prostituted out of the Woodbury Red Roof Inn. St. Paul police used the Backpage site to set up a sting operation in which they identified the victim and arrested her roommate, who allegedly assisted in prostituting the teen.
Tramble pleaded guilty to one count of promotion of prostitution in the first degree. He also pleaded guilty to one count of promotion of prostitution in the second degree in connection with the prostitution of an adult woman.

The teen’s roommate, Tameka Richardson, pled guilty to promotion of prostitution and will be sentenced later this month.

A Maplewood man acted as a pimp for a 17-year-old, placing prostitution ads on the website backpage.com to set up “dates” for her.
He did the same for another woman, who was 22.
And for that, Malachai Tramble II, 28, was sentenced to eight years and eight months in prison on Thursday, May 10, in Ramsey County District Court.
“The defendant in this case manipulated two women, one being a juvenile, a minor, and that was for his own financial gain,” said Eric Leonard, an assistant Ramsey County attorney.

Hopkins massage parlors that were the targets of undercover prostitution stings last week should have a hearing on possible license penalties June 5, City Manager Mike Mornson said.
Mornson expects to send letters to the businesses this week informing them that their licenses are temporarily suspended until the June 5 hearing. Council members will then consider further sanctions, including a continued suspension or license revocation.
Police arrested masseuses at Hopkins Asian Massage and Yinyin Massage on May 1 after an anonymous letter accused the businesses of allowing prostitution to take place on their properties. During an undercover investigation, a masseuse at each business offered a plainclothes officer sexual favors, according to court documents.
Prosecutors charged both masseuses with prostitution in a public place, a criminal charge.
The license revocation, which is not a criminal action, is taking place under a new ordinance Hopkins passed last year that requires licenses for most massage businesses. Under that ordinance, the city manager can temporarily suspend a massage license for 21 days.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 68-year-old man previously busted for leading a Twin Cities prostitution ring was arrested on April 19 for meeting with a prostitute at a Minneapolis hotel, according to police.

Authorities said in the days leading up to April 19, they learned from a Ramsey County probation officer that St. Marie was accessing prostitution escort service web sites and emailing suspected prostitutes. It violated his probation violation after he was convicted for previous involvement with the “Nice Guys Prostitution Ring.”
A Minneapolis Police Sergeant learned that St. Marie had arranged for an evening meeting with a suspected prostitute on April 19 at the Crown Plaza Hotel.

Police said they entered the room and found St. Marie inside with a prostitute. He admitted to bringing the woman there to engage in prostitution.
